Dutch Green MEP Kathalijne Buitenweg expressed relief that the civil liberties committee adopted her report on extending anti-discrimination legal protection beyond the workplace. Currently discrimination grounds of age, religion, disability and sexual orientation are not covered for goods and services: a situation that the new legislation aims to remedy.
